The scheme provides a facility to partially withdraw the funds in case of any necessity after successful completion of a period of 6 six years i.e. from 7th year onwards. A maximum of 50% of the amount can be withdrawn by the account holder at the end of the 4th year preceding the year in which the amount is withdrawn or even at the last or the end of the preceding year keeping in view the lower one. More withdrawals can be done only once in any financial year.

PPF account offers us a great tax benefit under section 80C of the income tax. Even the accumulated sum of amounts as well as the interest would also be exempted from the income tax during the time of maturity and withdrawal of the amounts linked with the PPF account.
